I have been doing some work on this title with a view to releasing a new updated re-edited version. I had originally thought it was definitely public domain, in large part because it is listed here as such - and also available in certain other locations.

However, I was just doing some other checks, and I am not feeling so sure any more. The book was originally published between 10 June 1922 and 26 May 1923, in The Saturday Evening Post. And then published as a book in 1923 (though I'm not sure if updates were made to the original articles - presumably editing updates were made). However, my understanding is that books published after 1922 are not yet in the public domain.

Is there a way that I can definitively ascertain the books status - and can anyone give some info here.

Noise collector,
Books published up-to and including 1923 are in the public domain; rule 5 US Copyright statutes; (with a few rare exceptions); also includes almost all foreign published works.
